The team worked on restructuring the 80 sqm apartment, located at the heart of Trastevere. The apartment originally had a bedroom, a living-room, a dining-room, a kitchen and a bathroom. As the owner was willing to have a second bathroom, the team created a new “architectural graft”, recognizable due to its size and position, detached from the load bearing wall. The entire structure which was added is indeed supported vertically by an existing system, above the brushed wooden floor, which actually underlines the geometry of the room.
